If anyone has some seeds to share for what looks to be a wonderful plant, I would be happy to share some of the seeds that I have recently picked up at Richters.

I bought a package of these last year (along with several other SeedZoo seeds). Since I couldn't find detailed growing information for most of them (days to maturity especially), I decided to only plant a portion of the seeds from each package last year as a sort of trial run. That way I could get an idea of any special needs the plants had, if I needed to start them indoors earlier, etc. Then, with that little bit of extra knowledge, I'm planning to plant the remaining seeds this year and save seeds from them.
So that's what I did with the watermelon seeds. Last year I planted two. They germinated very easily - within 4 days - and the seedlings looked good and healthy. But my garden was newly started last year, and was badly infested with slugs from previous years of neglect. The slugs attacked nearly everything in my garden, but the watermelon seedlings got the worst of it - they were toast within 3 days of transplanting in the garden. By then it was too late to start more seeds. So while I didn't manage to save any seeds from last year, I'm trying again this year - with extra slug traps placed around the watermelon seedlings, and copper rings as an extra deterrent. I'll post any updates here, and hopefully have some seeds to share for next season.

Started out with 4 Limbang Midget Watermelon seeds. Got one to grow. Made the decision to prune all but one watermelon and after eating it, I have 72 seeds! Next year should be a much better crop

robstu, that is a fairly small genetic population to select from for an outcrosser like watermelon. I would be concerned about inbreeding depression and would advise attempting to get more seeds from original stock seed to the accession you now hold.
